I’ve never watched “The View”, I never will watch “The View”, and generally I really don’t care about anything ever said on “The View”. But apparently they have a new member of the show, and based on this clip she’s dumb as a post. Forget about doubting evolution, this woman isn’t even sure if the Earth maybe isn’t flat after all.

I don't watch The View either, but she seems more flustered than stupid to me, like maybe she wasn't paying attention to the question at first.

Lots of people look genuinely stupid at various moments of their lives and probably actually aren't. We all are incredible morons from time to time. If you don't make a public habit out of it and it doesn't hurt anyone, it seems unfair to define your entire life based on that.

She hosts a talk show. She's not an airline pilot. Even if she did think the earth was flat, it would hardly cause any real damage to society.

I know I'm obnoxious on the subject, but I think we can be too hard on people whose total moron moments happen in public. I do accept, however, that if someone is prone to total moron moments they should probably stay out of the public eye or just accept that they will be mocked.
