Fifty animals squashed against glass.
The London Zoo has posted up photos of this year’s recycled sculpture show.
I never, ever shop at Walmart. And never will. I mean, look at what they’ve done to the Vlasic pickle company alone.
Timewaster of the Week: How was your day?

Two New York City students used DNA fingerprinting to discover that many of the fish sold as sushi are mislabeled. (Via Arcadia)
“A piece of sushi sold as the luxury treat white tuna turned out to be Mozambique tilapia, a much cheaper fish that is often raised by farming. Roe supposedly from flying fish was actually from smelt. Seven of nine samples that were called red snapper were mislabeled, and they turned out to be anything from Atlantic cod to Acadian redfish, an endangered species.”
You know, I'd admire Vlasic a lot more if they just said "NO" to WalMart. How does one force a company to operate in the red?
When the company wants the contract more than they want to operate sanely, I cease to feel sorry for them.

I got an email asking the same thing. I think it's simply volume. I just hate box stores in general (had to go to Home Depot today to fix a broken toilet because nothing else was open. Was almost worth waiting an extra day just to not have to go there, but with other people in the house, what are you going to do?)
