A frozen ice-age plant, found in a fossilized squirrel burrow in Siberia, has been brought back to life after 30,000 years. It beats the old record for resurrecting a plant by nearly 29,000 years. Sounds awesome, except it was only found because the Russian permafrost is melting, revealing things like plants and mammoth bones for the first time in tens of thousands of years.
