I never realized Olympic-level sailing was so physically gruelling.
Back when he was “Calpundit” nearly a decade ago, Kevin Drum was one of the first bloggers I ever read, and back then he pioneered Friday cat blogging, usually featuring Inkblot. I don’t even like cats, but I was sad to hear he died this week. I felt this weird connection to an animal living on the other side of a continent. However, Kevin’s theory that Inkblot was killed by a coyote doesn’t fly with me. I have a coyote den out back and the only signs you’d see of a former cat is a chewed collar and name tag. I could be wrong, but I don’t think you’d find a body. That said, here’s an extremely tolerant kitty.
Yeah, I thought the same thing. Used to have a coyote pack living on the ridge behind my house and neighbors who just kept replacing their outdoor cats as the tricksters would snag them. There were almost never enough remains left to identify the poor felines.

BTW, I was showing the bear and salmon cam to my wife yesterday and we saw a bear catch and eat a salmon. It also attracted a few seagulls who went after the tidbits. It's a pretty cool deal.

They all face towards the falls, but that one bear is usually on top facing the other way. If you're lucky you'll see him catch a leaping salmon in mid-air. I saw it once.
