Tuesday coonhound blogging: I haven't mentioned Creole much lately. Ever since her bout with pancreatitis and granulomatous dermatoses last March, her behavior has changed radically. She's taken to extreme denning behavior, and she's staked out three dens: My car, her office crate, and beneath my desk at home. Outside of these three areas she's as sweet as can be, even to strangers, although she does seems more nervous overall, approaching people with very submissive postures (I've been accused of abusing her from strangers at the dog park). Approached by anyone but me in these three locations she becomes vicious. She's bitten three people and one tortoise so far. My biggest fear is having to give her up, but I can't risk a lawsuit, and that situation is seeming to be increasingly likely. One of her victims she's known since she was a puppy. And minutes after the attack, outside of the car, she was playing with him like nothing ever happened. Here's her denning under my desk, and I think it's pretty clear what her state of mind is here.
