When Opal (my tiny octopus) closes his shell with a piece of red glass at night, I wonder if octopuses dream? This would be a huge psychoanalytical question (and we've all heard a dog's vocalization while she sleeps), but since their intelligence is at least equal to a dog's, I would say yes. I'd love to know what's going through Opal's mind. Discover Magazine also says yes. I shouldn't be thinking of these things at 3:00 in the morning.
