Watch some random sunbathers saving stranded dolphins on a Brazilian beach. People can be so good sometimes. I've been reading up on theories on why this happens, and I think researchers are missing the obvious. Two things to note: They are almost always smaller species (dolphins and pilot whales), and when pulled back out to sea they return to land. One theory is they are chasing smaller prey into shallow waters, but this makes no sense. Reverse this: Predators (great whites) have driven the pod onto shore, and being pulled back out by people is like feeding them to the lions. Feel free to call me crazy.
