I’ve been plagued by the beach-ball-of-death lately, and this comic is just perfect.
I posted a few months ago about the tiny, barely out of larval stage octopus I caught last August. This is what he looked like then:
Here's what he looks like now. And now that he's bigger (about golf ball size) I can see that he is actually a reef octopus, not an Atlantic octopus as I had assumed. These are extremely rare in New England and I've only seen one other in the past 20 years.
