I’ve mentioned We the People before, the White House petition website. This one, that demands to legally recognize Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group, has a huge following. So far it’s the most popular petition of all time. Do your part. I did mine.
Update: Via John Cole, here's the official White House response by the chief of Science and Space for the administration, to the petition "Secure resources and funding, and begin construction of a Death Star by 2016". Paul Shawcross has some major geek cred.
Stuff you should know: The Grand Canyon is 65 million years older than we thought. When I visited five years ago it was the closest thing to a spiritual experience I've had yet (click to embiggen).
