Dangerous Minds shows and reviews a short film called “The Flying Man”, which asks “What if superheroes were psychotic?”
What is the correct plural form of “octopus”? Most people use “octopi”, but they’re wrong.

I just use "octopus". If I mean members of more than one kind, I say "species of octopus". This is breaking with my usual "fish/fishes" and "squid/squids" habit, but is pretty similar to how I treat "moose".
People rarely demand clarification, but then it rarely comes up, even for me. If I were Bruce Robison or Steve O'Shea, I might have to put some more thought into it.

I'm guessing that "octopodes" is correct but too inclusive, more about clades than individuals, and not what you meant.
And "octopockles" is probably not what you're looking for, either (from an argument in Kelly's Pogo, between, I think, Churchy and Albert, about how to call for help when when seized by an octopus)
