Two years after I first noticed the sea stars disappearing from the east coast, they seem to be making a slow recovery. We found these little healthy ones today. Here's an interview I did in February 2012, a year and a half before researchers officially "discovered" the animals have gone missing. And an update from the same paper this month, that at least gives me some credit.
Trust the people who are out in the field rather than the scientists hunkered down in their offices. I normally don't do the "it's all about me" thing, but this whole episode annoys me.
