Thanks to Joel in comments, it appears the mysterious Peruvian webs from yesterday's post have been discovered to be protective nests for baby jumping spiders.
Ten years ago Warren Zevon died, and for some reason it hit me hard back then. I met him very briefly when he came to play at the University of New Hampshire when I was a Sophomore there. I couldn’t get any of my friends to go to the show with me, so I sat there alone. I met him afterwards at the Student Union Club for a few seconds, where he shook my hand. His smile was genuine, although he was coming off a really bad time in his life. Watch this VH1 documentary on him.
