Meet the supertrees of Singapore. They’re mechanical forests that act as vertical gardens, generating solar power and collecting rainwater. Living plants growing on them are aimed at improving urban living by regulating temperature and humidity and providing income through ecotourism. And the plant wastes fuel turbines to generate electricity.
Late tonight (3:00 am on the East Coast) we’ll be able to see the last Blood Moon until 2019. It’s the first of four eclipses we’ll have this year. NASA has put together this nice explanation of these phenomena.
