When I was a kid there was a local station that would play Alice's Restaurant on the hour all day and night on Thanksgiving. I'd go out to my dad's car every hour and listen to it over and over until it was time to go home. In between I'd grab some food and then back out to car again. Great way to avoid relatives for an anti-social child and teen.
As wolf populations dwindled and their habitat deforested beginning centuries ago they began breeding with coyotes and domestic dogs. Now there's evidence showing that the wolf-coyote hybrid may actually be evolving into its own species. Containing mostly coyote DNA with a quarter wolf and a bit of dog thrown into the mix, the coywolf seems to be more fit than any of the three species that make it up.
Betty Cracker has a great take on why poor and struggling whites in red states seem to vote against their own self-interest by electing Republicans. Short answer is they don't. The people who once benefitted from social programs now resent those that do now, and the ones who depend on these programs now simply don't vote.
It's bad enough that people like Jon Stewart and John Oliver are the most in-depth and reliable sources of news, but when The Onion nails it (presciently back in 2003) it's a sad indictment of the conservative mainstream media.

As a Star Wars fan I was delighted to follow a guy who chronicled his journey through the first two trilogies after never having seen any of them. All Star Wars fans will be amused at a newbie's first impressions of each movie without knowing what’s coming next. Each review ends with some lingering questions the writer has about what may be coming up (many of which are amusing to those of us who know all the answers).
I see term limits as a protection against making a disaster like Bush permanent. But they are also great for freeing up the good guys to say what's on their minds. I'm going to miss him, but it will be nice to have a woman in the White House as well. And kinda related, this Larry Wilmore interview of Rand Paul is hilarious. Do republican any candidates do shows like The Daily Show thinking they will be doing a serious interview? (although I think Paul did pretty well here all things considered.)
