So do sod poodles make good pets?

Not sure. They are wild animals, and a friend of mine who owns a pet shop won't sell them. He claims that they are advertised as "captive bred", which sounds nice. But the story is that collectors find wild colonies, place fences around some burrows (ie" captive) and take the newly weaned young out and sell them.

Not sure how common this practice is, though.

Figured. Didn't want one for myself, for sure, just wanted to know how one ended up in a cage.
